Public-private collaboration connects housing, private investment, commercial financing, and supportive services to expand housing opportunities in Charlotte NC
Residential real estate can deliver both measurable investment performance and lasting community impact when managed through disciplined Residential Asset Management and Long-Term Asset Stewardship.”
CHARLOTTE, NC, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Advisor Carolinas Asset Management, a North Carolina-based strategic residential real estate asset management company, is expanding its Charlotte Bridge Housing Initiative through a strategic partnership with Resources for Human Development (RHD), bringing together residential housing and nationally recognized supportive services to help individuals facing housing instability and barriers to stable housing.— Richard Esquer Founder & President
The initiative reflects Advisor’s broader approach to connecting residential assets and capital with community partners through strategic public-private partnerships.
Advisor supported the initiative by strategically aligning residential assets from its platform with community partners, including private investment partner B&B Builders of the Carolinas, commercial lending partner Skyla Credit Union, and nonprofit partner RHD.
The initiative utilizes two-bedroom residential homes from Advisor’s platform that are well suited to support the Bridge Housing environment, providing residents with safe, stable housing while RHD delivers supportive services designed to help individuals transition toward greater long-term housing stability.
Together, the organizations demonstrate how residential asset management, private investment, commercial financing, and supportive services can strengthen communities while supporting long-term asset performance.
Connecting Housing with Supportive Services
RHD provides the initiative’s supportive-services component, bringing extensive experience serving individuals and communities facing housing and behavioral health challenges.
“RHD, a national nonprofit founded in 1970, is very proud to be one of the many organizations working to ensure that everyone has access to safe, affordable housing. We have found that many people simply need help accessing healthcare, employment services, and mental health and substance use treatment to find and maintain long-term housing stability.
“Through trauma-informed care, including peer support services led by employees with lived experience, and through collaboration with other mission-driven organizations, we help community members remove those barriers, break the cycle of homelessness, and live fulfilling lives in the communities they choose. Our experience has shown that sometimes someone just needs a little help. Together, We are Better.

— Nicholas Hobbs, Executive State Director, Resources for Human Development
The partnership allows each organization to focus on its expertise: Advisor provides the residential asset management framework, while RHD provides specialized services supporting residents toward greater stability and independence.
This structure combines quality housing with services and community resources that address barriers to long-term stability.
Connecting Capital, Housing and Community
The initiative showcases Advisor’s operating model for connecting capital, housing, and community.
Advisor works across an ecosystem including company capital, private investment, commercial lending, nonprofits, healthcare providers, Managed Care Organizations operating within the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) framework, and other community partners.
These public-private partnerships can help DHHS, Managed Care Organizations, and community agencies leverage residential assets, private capital, and strategic asset management to expand sustainable housing opportunities.
Skyla Credit Union Supports the Initiative Through Commercial Lending
Skyla Credit Union, through its Commercial Lending Division, provided financing supporting the Charlotte Bridge Housing Initiative.
“Housing is one of the most important foundations for financial stability and thriving communities. At Skyla, we believe that expanding access to quality, affordable housing creates opportunities that extend far beyond a place to live - it strengthens families, supports local economic growth, and helps individuals build brighter financial futures.
“Through our Commercial Lending Division, we're proud to partner with Advisor Carolinas Asset Management in support of the Charlotte Bridge Housing Initiative by providing financing for residential developments that address one of our region's most pressing housing needs. This investment reflects our commitment to supporting organizations that create meaningful, lasting impact while strengthening the neighborhoods we're privileged to serve.
“As a community-focused financial institution, we're honored to play a role in initiatives that make our region stronger today while creating opportunities for generations to come.”
— Eric Gelly, President & CEO, Skyla Credit Union
The relationship demonstrates how commercial lending can complement company and private capital in supporting housing initiatives and long-term asset stewardship.
A Broader Residential Asset Management Platform
The Charlotte Bridge Housing Initiative is one example of a broader model supporting multiple Housing Initiatives across Advisor’s residential platform.
Today, more than 120 residential assets support Housing Initiatives throughout North Carolina through Advisor’s company-owned and managed residential portfolios.
Through company capital, private investment, and collaboration with Managed Care Organizations, nonprofits, housing providers, and government agencies, Advisor integrates residential assets into collaborative Housing Initiatives through asset stabilization, optimization, and long-term stewardship—supporting sustainable housing outcomes and responsible asset performance.
LOOKING AHEAD
Looking ahead, Advisor plans to strengthen relationships with nonprofits, healthcare providers, Managed Care Organizations, government agencies, and community partners while exploring opportunities supporting behavioral health, veteran housing, and other underserved populations.
Advisor is also exploring an affiliated nonprofit organization to complement existing partnerships and support specialized housing initiatives.
