Usyk to reclaim status as undisputed heavyweight champion
Usyk, who previously defeated Dubois in 2023, now extends his flawless professional record to 24 wins. This latest victory restores the IBF title stripped from him earlier this year, which he adds back to his WBA (Super), WBO, and WBC belts.
"I'm sorry [Dubois], it's sport. My people wanted this win," Usyk said post-fight. "Next, I want to rest. My family, my wife, my children—I want to rest now. Two or three months, I just want to rest."
Dubois, who had defended his IBF title against Anthony Joshua last September, suffered the third defeat of his career—all by stoppage. "I gave everything I had. Take no credit away from that man—I'll be back," he said.
The event drew legends such as Roy Jones Jr and Frank Bruno, with WBO interim champion Joseph Parker also in attendance, eyeing a future showdown with Usyk. The fight kicked off fast, with Dubois using his jab early, but Usyk’s superior movement and counterpunching left the Briton unable to gain momentum. The Ukrainian was in complete control before sealing the win in emphatic fashion.
